Cincinnati Reds Call Up Outfielder
The Cincinnati Reds have called up Michael Siani to their major league roster.
To earn this promotion, Siani needed to get his contract selected to the Reds' 40-man roster, and he did just that. Now, the 22-year-old outfielder is set to make his major league debut, and that is amazing news for the Pennsylvania native.
With Nick Senzel out for the rest of the year, it opened the door to Siani being called up. With the Reds being completely out of the playoff picture, they can take a chance on the youngster and see what he's capable of doing. If he impresses, perhaps we will see him in the majors in 2023, too.
In 129 games this season split between Double-A and Triple-A, Siani has 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, and a .252 batting average. Overall, those are pretty decent numbers, but we will need to see if they can translate over to the majors from here.
