Chicago White Sox Shut Down Infielder
The Chicago White Sox are shutting down Tim Anderson for the rest of the 2022 season.
Ultimately, this is an easy decision by the White Sox, as they are entirely out of the playoff race. There's no need for Anderson to risk injuring himself further just to play in some games that simply do not matter for the White Sox. Thus, it is wise for Anderson to rest and prepare for the 2023 campaign instead.
Anderson appeared in 79 games this season for the White Sox, where he had six home runs, 25 RBIs, and a .301 batting average. Overall, it was another excellent season from the All-Star infielder, but, unfortunately, it ended far earlier than it should have due to injury.
