Chicago Cubs Infielder Placed On Injured List
The injury bug is refusing to leave Nick Madrigal alone, as he once again has been placed on the injured list by the Chicago Cubs.
This time around, Madrigal is dealing with a groin strain and will be out for the next 10 days at least. However, given his injury history and the Cubs being entirely out of the playoff race, we could see the team elect to rest him for the remainder of the season.
Madrigal's first season as a Cub has been underwhelming, as he has zero home runs, seven RBIs, and a .249 batting average in 59 games. This is far lower production than we saw from him during his first two seasons with the Chicago White Sox, so he will be aiming to bounce back in 2023.
