Chicago Cubs Catcher Placed On Injured List

The Chicago Cubs will be without their top catcher for the next 10 days at least, as Willson Contreras has been placed on the injured list.

Contreras has an ankle injury that has been causing his issues in recent weeks. Due to this, the Cubs are having the star rest instead of risking the possibility of worsening it. With the Cubs out of the playoff picture entirely, it is understandable that he is taking this time to rest. With Contreras set to be a free agent, he will be hoping to get back into the lineup before the year is over.

In 107 games this season, Contreras has 21 home runs, 54 RBIs, and a .246 batting average. With that, he was named to his third-career All-Star Game.
