The twenty-eight-year-old has been impressive at the minor league level this season, hitting a strong .277 batting average and a very solid .353 on-base percentage. In addition, he's tacked on nine home runs, 49 RBIs and 30 stolen bases in 363 at-bats.
The stolen bases are what the Cardinals are looking at here, as Deluzio will be a great source of speed off the bench in the late innings down the stretch.
The Cardinals are currently sitting atop the NL Central with a 76-55 record, six games up on the Milwaukee Brewers.
