Boston Red Sox Pitcher Ruled Out For Rest Of Season
According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Taylor has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Sox finally acknowledged Josh Taylor isn't going to pitch this season because of a lower back issue.

29-year-old lefty was second on the 2021 team with 61 appearances and had an adjusted ERA of 137.
He's arbitration eligible for the first time.
Taylor has not made a single appearance this campaign due to a lower back strain. It appears that the severity of the strain has not significantly changed by this development, and now Taylor has lost his age-29 season.
The Red Sox have certainly missed Taylor this season. Like many seasons before this one, the Red Sox have dealt with inconsistency from the bullpen, and Taylor could have been a way to help remedy that. His 2021 season shows that effectively. In 61 appearances last year, he had a 1-0 record to go along with a 3.40 ERA.
Yet, it makes sense that the Sox are not rushing him back, as they are out of the playoff race. No need to risk further injury for games that ultimately do not matter.
