Boston Red Sox Outright Pitcher
Hirokazu Sawamura has cleared waivers and will be remaining with the Boston Red Sox organization. The pitcher has now been outrighted to Triple-A Worcester.
Sawamura has had a pretty solid season, so it is a little surprising to see that he has cleared waivers. In 49 games this season, he has a 1-1 record to go along with a 3.73 ERA.
Sawamura will now be a decent call-up option for the Red Sox if they need more pitching before the season is over. In 104 career games, he has a 6-2 record and a 3.39 ERA.
