Baltimore Orioles Option Pitcher

The Baltimore Orioles have sent down Spenser Watkins to Triple-A Norfolk.

Watkins is in his second season with the Orioles and has had mixed results in 2022. In 20 appearances on the year, he sports a 4-6 record to go along with a 4.37 ERA. Although he hasn't been horrendous, it's clear that he also has had some troubles when looking at where his ERA is currently sitting. As a result, perhaps this move to Triple-A could have been predicted.

Although it is never a joyous occasion for a player when they are demoted, Watkins can take solace in the fact that he is still a member of their 40-man roster. Due to this, he can still be called up with ease at any point before the season is over. As a result, if he performs well with Norfolk from here, we may not have seen his last pitch with the Orioles yet this season.
