Athletics Place Pitcher on IL; Recall Pitcher Claimed Off Waivers Last Week
The Oakland Athletics have placed pitcher Adam Oller on the 15-day injured list with right rib costochondritis.
In a corresponding move, the team has recalled pitcher Tyler Cyr.
In a series of transactions sure to leave the city of Fremont conflicted, the A's have optioned Cal Stevenson and recalled Tyler Cyr, while also activating Ramón Laureano and placing Adam Oller on the IL.

It's not yet clear if Oller will be ready in time to return before the end of the season. The twenty-seven-year-old rookie has posted an ugly 6.01 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 73 innings.

The Athletics have recalled pitcher Tyler Cyr from Triple-A Las Vegas. Cyr was claimed off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies on August 24 and will now get his first appearance with his new team.
The twenty-nine-year-old has posted a 2.85 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 45 strikeouts over 41 innings in the minors this year. In 39 appearances, he holds a 2-3 record and has converted six saves.
