Yankees Sign Pitcher to Minor-League Deal

The New York Yankees announced Tuesday that they have signed pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez to a minor-league deal.

Gonzalez gives the Yankees some extra pitching depth within their organization. He opted out of his minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers last week.

The thirty-year-old has made six major league appearances this season, split between the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers, compiling a 6.87 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 18 innings. Four of those appearances have been starts for Gonzalez.
