Yankees Acquire Reliever From Cubs
Everyone's been focused on Chicago Cubs closer David Robertson as the trade deadline approaches, but there are some other nice pieces in the Cubbies' bullpen that teams have been eyeing as well. The New York Yankees have obtained one of those pieces today.

Effross is under club control through 2027, and is in just his 2nd year in the majors. He's posted a 2.66 ERA along with a 1.07 WHIP, and an impressive 50:11 strikeout to walk ratio in 44 innings.
Per Jim Bowden, with his funky low arm angle, opponents hit only .157 against his slider, and .094 against his changeup.
In return, the Yankees send their No. 7 prospect, RHP Hayden Wesneski, currently at Triple-A.
