Washington Nationals Release Infielder
The Washington Nationals have released Maikel Franco.
Franco was utilized quite often by the Nationals this season. In 103 games, he had nine home runs, 39 RBIs, and a .229 batting average. Although he was the team's starting third baseman, it wasn't enough for him to stick around, and now he will be looking for a home elsewhere.
Franco's vast MLB experience could be enough for him to get interest around the league. In 923 career games, he has 130 home runs, 467 RBIs, and a .244 batting average.
