Update On Injured Kris Bryant Is Not Good
Since signing free agent Kris Bryant to a 7-year, $182M contract in the offseason, things haven't gone quite as planned for the Colorado Rockies and their new star player.
Bryant has been dinged by injuries all year, only managing to play 42 games thus far. His most recent malady is plantar fasciitis, and the latest update is that it's so bad that Bryant is moving around with a walking boot to protect his foot.
He's been seeing specialists about the problem for a few weeks, and though it's been bothering him for some time, he was just placed on the 10-day IL for the ailment on Aug. 2nd. But according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, there is "no timetable for his return."
Bryant was plagued by lower-back issues earlier in the season, that cost him two separate trips to the IL.
When he has played, he's contributed, batting .306 with an .851 OPS, along with 5 HR and 14 RBIs.
On the largest free agent contract in franchise history, the Rockies will be hoping for a bit more of a return moving forward. Bryant will make $28M next season.
