Tigers' Starter Out Since Mid-June Due to Personal Matter; Could Return Next Week
He's missed a month and a half while dealing with a personal matter and, at one point, the Detroit Tigers had no idea of his whereabouts, not having heard from him in weeks.
Eduardo Rodriguez is back now though, and he pitched a fantastic rehab outing at Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
In five innings pitched, Rodriguez allowed one hit, zero runs, one walk, and six strikeouts. He only needed 53 pitches to get through five frames, throwing 39 of those for strikes.

He looks ready to return now, however, the Tigers will most likely require him to complete one more rehab start before activating him next week sometime.
The twenty-nine-year-old has pitched just 39 innings this season with the Tigers, posting a 4.38 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts.
Rodriguez secured an eye-popping five-year, $77 million contract this offseason.
