Tentative Timetable for Red Sox's $140-Millon Offseason Signing to Return
The Boston Red Sox signed him to a six-year, $140 million contract this offseason.
It's been an up-and-down season for Trevor Story this year.
There have been multiple times the twenty-nine-year-old has gone on hot streaks this season, crushing the ball at a ridiculous rate. But just as soon as he gets hot, he seems to cool right down again, causing much frustration among Red Sox fans.
Story has been sidelined since mid-July due to a hairline fracture in his right wrist. He's now been cleared to start swinging a bat again and is expected to do so on Friday. Manager Alex Cora said they'll start with hitting off a tee and some soft toss.

“Tomorrow I think is Tee and soft toss, 30 and 30 (pitches) with the regular bat, not with the fungo,” Cora said. “So he’s feeling better swinging it. So that’s good.”
Although it seems like nothing, this is definitely positive news for Story, as he continues to progress towards a return to the Red Sox lineup.
If everything progresses smoothly, there's a solid chance we see Story back with the Red Sox in late August or early September.
In 81 games played this season, Story has batted an underwhelming .221/.289/.423, with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs.
