Seattle Mariners Pitcher Elects Free Agency
Ken Giles has rejected an outright assignment from the Seattle Mariners and has instead elected to become a free agent.
Giles made five appearances for the Mariners this season, where he had 4.1 scoreless innings. Overall, he was solid in the small sample size, but that did not stop Seattle from designating him for assignment. Now, he will be aiming to find a new home before the season is over.
There should be some interest in Giles' services when looking at his MLB resume. In 362 career games, he has a 14-18 record, 2.71 ERA, and 115 saves. Let's see where he ends up from here.
