Seattle Mariners Catcher Designated For Assignment

The Seattle Mariners have designated Luis Torrens for assignment.

Torrens has played in 45 games with the Mariners this season, where he has one home run, 10 RBIs, and a .214 batting average. It's fair to say that he has struggled in 2022, so perhaps this is a move that we could have seen coming.

Torrens will now either be placed on waivers or simply released by the Mariners. If he hits the free agent market, there could be some teams willing to take a chance on him.
