San Francisco Giants & Chicago Cubs Complete Trade

The Giants have acquired Dixon Machado from the Cubs in exchange for Raynel Espinal.

Machado quickly made his debut for the Giants following the move, where he had a hit in three at-bats. Overall, it wasn't a bad start at all for the versatile infielder, so it will be intriguing to see if the Giants continue to give him chances from here.

Espinal, on the other hand, has spent all of this season with Triple-A Sacramento. In 19 appearances, he had a 5-5 record and 5.51 ERA. He will be hoping to find more stability with the Cubs organization. Perhaps that could lead to an eventual call-up to their major league squad.
