Royals Call Up Prospect; Option Infielder

 

The Kansas City Royals are calling up their number-30 ranked prospect, and outfielder, Nate Eaton from Triple-A Omaha.

Infielder Maikel Garcia has been optioned to Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

This will be Eaton's second time in the majors this season, as he's played four games already and hit one home run. In the minors this season, however, the twenty-five-year-old is slashing .289/.355/.471, with 13 home runs, 51 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 86 games between Double-A and Triple-A. 

Maikel Garcia is the odd-man out for Eaton's return. Garcia played very well in his time in the majors, however, hitting for a .350 average with two RBIs over seven games played. The twenty-two-year-old, and the Royals' 20th-ranked prospect, will surely be back with the club at some point this season.
