Rockies Outfielder Pops Own Shoulder Back Into Socket; Hopes to Avoid IL

He suffered the injury while making a terrific diving catch in the outfield Thursday.

Colorado Rockies' outfielder Yonathan Daza landed hard on his left side while completing a run-saving catch in the first inning of a game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was led out of the game and could be seen clutching his left shoulder, in obvious pain.

Daza told reporters after the game that his shoulder popped out of his socket, but he popped it back in himself while waiting for trainers. He also told the reporters that he's hopeful to avoid the injured list.

It remains to be seen if he really can avoid a trip to the injured list, but the pain he experiences in the coming days will be indicative of what happens in regards to that.

The twenty-eight-year-old leaves behind a strong .299/.345/.367 triple slash line, with one home run and 24 RBIs in 90 games.
