Rays Shutdown Reliever Throwing Again; Should Return in September
Tampa Bay Rays reliever JP Feyereisen threw a bullpen session on Monday.
Feyereisen has thrown a couple bullpen sessions in the last week as he continues to progress from right shoulder discomfort, which has kept him out for a lengthy period of time this season.
However, Feyereisen recently said that he's targeting a mid-September return to the Rays' bullpen.
This would be a massive boost for the Rays, as Feyereisen has been one of the best relievers in all of baseball the past couple seasons.

This season, the twenty-nine-year-old has thrown 24 innings of shutout baseball, with an insane 0.49 WHIP and a 25:5 K/BB ratio. He's also started two games, finished two games, coverted one save, and posted a 4-0 record. That's versatility.
In 2021, Feyereisen posted a 2.73 ERA and 53 strikeouts over 56 innings.
