Woodward's record with the team is 211-287 since being hired in 2019.
The Rangers are in the midst of yet another losing season, posting a 51-63 record, putting them 9.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
The team was a historic 6-24 in one-run games this season, 12 games under .500, and 9.5 games out of a playoff spot after multiple big-name signings this offseason. That won't cut it.
Woodward becomes the fourth manager fired this season, joining Joe Maddon, Joe Girardi and Charlie Montoyo.
Third base coach Tony Beasley has been named the Rangers interim manager.
