Pittsburgh Pirates Designate Catcher For Assignment

The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated Jose Godoy for assignment.

Godoy was recently claimed off waivers by the Pirates, but he is once again heading right back there. In five games as a Pirate, he went 0-for-7 at the plate. Teams looking for a bit more depth behind the plate certainly could put a claim in on Godoy.

In 23 career games between the Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, and Pirates, Godoy has zero home runs, four RBIs, and a .128 batting average.
