Pirates Rookie Loses His CELLPHONE During Slide
When you get a call-up to the majors, you want to make a good impression straight off the bat. There's some doubt about the impression that the Pittsburgh Pirates' Rodolfo Castro made, after his bizarre incident running the bases Tuesday night.
His cellphone was clearly seen popping out of his back pocket as he slid into 3rd base.

This might be a first, and for Castro, you can be sure it will be the last time this ever happens. In fact, according to Ken Rosenthal of MLB Network, he could even be facing discipline from the league (if not the Pirates).
The Pirates’ Rodolfo Castro, who had a cell phone fall out of his back pocket last night, technically was in violation of MLB’s regulation prohibiting electronic devices on the field or in the dugout (except for MLB-approved iPads). Not known if he will face discipline.

Rosenthal says that Castro "technically was in violation of MLB’s regulation prohibiting electronic devices on the field."
Castro was recalled on Tuesday, and the incident occurred during that night's game. The 23-year-old went 0-for-3 with a walk in Pittsburgh’s 6-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
“I don’t think there’s any professional ballplayer that would ever go out there with any intentions of taking a cellphone,” Castro told reporters through an interpreter. “It’s horrible it happened to me. Obviously, it was very unintentional.”
