Phillies DFA Pitcher Called Up on Sunday
It wasn't the MLB debut he was hoping for.
Tyler Cyr allowed two hits and an earned run while recording one out on Sunday against the New York Mets.
Now, the Philadelphia Phillies have designated him for assignment.
The Phillies have selected the contract of LHP Michael Plassmeyer from Lehigh Valley (AAA) and designated RHP Tyler Cyr for assignment.

The plan was for Cyr to join the Phillies bullpen after Seranthony Dominguez landed on the injured list with a right triceps strain, however, the Phillies feel like they've seen enough after Sunday's outing by him.
It's too bad, as Cyr had actually been very good in Triple-A this season, posting a stellar 2.50 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37 strikeouts over 36 innings.
