Phillies Call Up Starter
The Philadelphia Phillies have been dealt with some tough injury blows in the past week, especially with their pitchers.
As a result, they are calling up pitcher Michael Plassmeyer from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
No structural damage for Seranthony Domínguez. He’s no throw for five days. Rest and he could return Sept. 2. A lefty named Michael Plassmeyer is here and is active as a long man in the bullpen. Tyler Cyr DFA.

Plassmeyer is a left-handed pitcher, so he'll add an extra bit of versatility to the Phillies bullpen.
In 54 innings this season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Plassmeyer has been brilliant, posting a 2.83 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 53 strikeouts. He's also started 11 games, which is as many games as he's appeared in, so if the Phillies need a long-reliever at times, the twenty-five-year-old Plassmeyer is their man.
