Philadelphia Phillies Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Philadelphia Phillies have designated Ryan Sherriff for assignment.

Sherriff has missed the entirety of the 2022 season due to a shoulder injury but had begun his rehab assignment. Although the Phillies have taken him off the 60-day injured list, his spot on their 40-man roster is now gone.

The Phillies have until tomorrow to trade or until the end of the week to place him on waivers. It will be intriguing to see what happens with Sherriff from here. Perhaps this roster move has been made because the Phillies are inching closer to making a trade elsewhere.
