Padres Acquire Another Sought-After Trade Target
Okay, so it's not exactly another Juan Soto trade—that's a tough act to follow. But the San Diego Padres aren't resting on their laurels just yet, going out and trading for Cincinnati Reds' infielder Brandon Drury.
Another one: The San Diego Padres are dealing for Brandon Drury, who's having a career year and can play all around the diamond, sources tell ESPN.

Drury, as noted by MLB Insider Jeff Passan, is having a breakout year, batting .274 with a career-high 20 home runs, along with 59 RBIs and a career-best .855 OPS. He had plenty of suitors leading up to the deadline.
Although he's mainly a second and third baseman, he's played at every position this season except left and center field. The 29-year-old was an economical $900,000 pickup for the Reds this season, after several years of mediocre production landed him on the MLB scrap heap.
Drury will likely serve in a utility role in the mostly star-studded Padres lineup.
In return, the Reds pick up 18-year-old infielder Victor Acosta, currently playing Rookie League ball.
