Oakland Athletics Shut Down All-Star Pitcher For Season
The Oakland Athletics have shut down Paul Blackburn for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Blackburn was recently placed on the injured list. With the A's currently completely out of playoff contention, it makes sense that they are resting Blackburn from here.

Blackburn certainly had a year to remember, however, as he appeared in his first All-Star Game. However, after sporting a 2.90 ERA during the first half, he struggled mightily in his last five starts. This is made clear by his year ending with a 4.28 ERA. His injury likely played a role in his end-of-season struggles, so here's to hoping he has a speedy recovery from here.
