New York Yankees And Oakland A’s Complete Blockbuster
The New York Yankees have won the Frankie Montas sweepstakes, as they acquired the starter from the Oakland Athletics. For good measure, they also acquired Lou Trivino in the deal.
Montas was one of the top pitchers on the trading block and had several teams interested in his services because of it. Yet, in fitting fashion, the Evil Empire has won the sweepstakes and will now have Montas in their rotation.
Montas has a 4-9 record this season to go along with a 3.18 ERA. Overall, it’s fair to say that he was the victim of playing for a bad team in Oakland, but now that won’t be a problem in New York.
Trivino, on the other hand, will provide the Yankees with more bullpen help. At this juncture of the campaign, he sports a 1-6 and 6.47 ERA. It’s been a rough year for him, but perhaps the change of scenery will help him find his previous form.
