New York Mets Pitcher Inching Closer To Return

According to New York Mets manager Buck Showalter, Joey Lucchesi is doing well with his recovery and is on track to return before the season is over.

Lucchesi had Tommy John surgery last June, so it once seemed more likely than not that he would miss the entirety of the 2022 season. Yet, with this recent development, it appears that he now has a good shot of coming back before the Mets begin their playoff run.

In 70 career games, Lucchesi has a 19-24 record and 4.24 ERA.
