MLB Rumors: Rosenthal Says "Don't Rule Out The Dodgers" On Juan Soto
The San Diego Padres might be one of the hot picks to land Juan Soto, but remember last year's trade deadline when they were the presumed favorites for Max Scherzer? A certain other Southern California team swooped in and stole Scherzer (along with Trea Turner) out from under them.
According to MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, it's not out of the realm of possibility that we could see something similar this season.

"Don’t rule out the (Los Angeles) Dodgers on Soto. They have been in contact with the Nationals," says Rosenthal. And while Padres GM A.J. Preller is busy working a number of other deals, it just may leave an opening for the Dodgers, as he puts it, "to pull off another deadline stunner."
As Rosenthal adds, "Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman keeps tabs on every big name," and one need look no further than one year ago.
The Padres do seem to have the prospect haul to pull it off, but don't count out their neighbors from up the coast.
