MLB Rumors: Oakland Athletics Shopping Outfielder

The A's are preparing to make several moves before the deadline passes on Tuesday. One player who they are reportedly shopping is outfielder Stephen Piscotty.

Piscotty has had a rough 2022 season and likely would benefit from a change of scenery. In 34 games, he has five home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .213 batting average. The A's have a $15 million team option for the 2023 season for him, and after this kind of season, it's unlikely that they will pick it up. Thus, a trade seems very likely at this juncture.

Piscotty could get attention from around the league. He has a 27-home run season on his resume and can provide more depth to a playoff club's outfield.
