MLB Rumors: NL MVP To Return Friday After Killing It In AAA
The Philadelphia Phillies have had a hard time convincing anyone that Bryce Harper needs more time to work his way back to Philly. Harper's first rehab game was a blast. Actually, two blasts, as he homered twice in five plate appearances. His second game might have been even better, as he went 3-for-5, including a walk-off double.

In the two rehab games, he's 5-for-8 with two homers, two doubles, three runs scored, six RBIs, two walks, and an insane 2.325 OPS. Now, we have confirmation from Phillies manager Rob Thomson that Harper will be back tomorrow.
Bryce Harper will be activated tomorrow, Rob Thomson said.

Harper has been out since June 25th, recovering from thumb surgery. Somehow, the Phillies are 31-20 in his absence. His return would further enhance their Wild Card chances, as they now sit in the second WC spot.
The reigning NL MVP still has an elbow problem which will keep him at DH for the balance of the season, but any way the Phillies can get his bat back in the lineup is just fine by them.

"Bring him up. What are you doing out there? He's ready."
His teammates certainly are ready for him: “Bring him up! He doesn’t need more games,” said second baseman Jean Segura. “What is he doing down there? He’s ready."
