MLB Rumors: New York Mets Linked to Veteran Pitcher

According to Ken Rosenthal, the New York Mets are "one possibility" to sign veteran pitcher Garrett Richards.

Richards just became a free agent after clearing waivers. The Texas Rangers designated him for assignment after his year of mixed results, but now the veteran is hoping to find a new home before the season is over. Perhaps it will be with the Mets due to his past connection with Billy Eppler.

In 32 games with the Rangers this campaign, Richards went 1-1 and had a 5.27 ERA.
