MLB Rumors: 3 Teams Linked To Tampa Bay Rays' Brett Phillips
On Monday, the Rays designated Brett Phillips for assignment. With the deadline just about here, the Red Sox, Phillies, and Yankees have expressed interest in the outfielder.
Phillips has had a year to forget in 2022. In 75 games, he has five home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .147 batting average. Although this season has been nothing short of a disaster for him, these three clubs are still open to the idea of bringing him in for depth.
Out of the trio, it's surprising to see that the Red Sox are looking to acquire him - as they are selling. The Phillies and Yankees, on the other hand, could benefit from adding a little more insurance in the outfield as they prepare for the playoffs.
