The Miami Marlins have designated A.J. Ladwig for assignment.

Ladwig has made just one appearance for the Marlins this campaign. During it, he surrendered four earned runs on six hits in just 3.1 innings pitched. Now, with this development, it appears that he will not have the chance to make up for this rough outing for a long time.

It will be intriguing to see if another team is willing to take a chance on Ladwig from here. It never hurts to add pitching depth, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility.
