Mets Trade JD Davis To Giants
It's been a disappointing season for J.D. Davis. He'll get a chance for a fresh start on the West Coast, as the New York Mets send the cornerman/DH to the San Francisco Giants in return for some outfield help. They acquire Darin Ruf, who mashes left-hand pitching.
The Mets recently traded for a couple of left-handed hitters in Daniel Vogelbach and Tyler Naquin to take on RHPs, now a righty bat to help diversify the lineup. Ruf, in fact, has an .886 OPS against left-handed pitching this season, and he's been even more impressive over the last few years.
Darin Ruf has a .937 OPS against left-handed pitching over the past three seasons.

That's 14th among players with at least 150 PAs against LHP in that time, just behind Ronald Acuña Jr. and ahead of the likes of Wander Franco, Salvador Perez, and Jose Abreu.
For Davis, he was hitting just .238 this season with a .683 OPS, with just four home runs. He hasn't been able to repeat the success of his 2019 season, when he hit over .300 with 22 home runs in just over 400 at-bats.
The Mets also send Nick Zwack, Carson Seymour and Thomas Szapucki to the Giants.
