Givens has been fantastic this season, posting a 2.66 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 40 innings. He has also converted two saves. The thirty-two-year-old has signed a one-year, $5,000,000 contract with the Cubs this offseason and has a 2023 mutual option.
Right-handed batters are hitting just .213 off him this season, while left-handed batters are hitting just .222.
The Mets bolster their bullpen even more with this deal.
