Mets Outright Two Players
The New York Mets designated these players for assignment last week and, now, both players have cleared waivers and have been sent outright to the minors.
Pitcher Sam Clay has been sent outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Clay was DFA'd on Sunday and passed through waivers unclaimed. The left-handed pitcher has pitched a career 50 major league innings, posting a 5.90 ERA and a 39/26 K/BB ratio.
In the minors this season, the twenty-nine-year-old has posted a 3.90 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 32 strikeouts over 30 innings.
