Mets Expected to Call Up Starter to Fill Empty Rotation Spot
With Carlos Carrasco's injury, the New York Mets' rotation depth is thin.
As a result, the Mets are expected to recall starter David Peterson for this weekend's doubleheader and, most likely, for longer.
Obviously, this throws a wrench in the Mets' rotation plans during a tough stretch of schedule. We'll get more info later today, but the easiest and most likely fix would be to insert David Peterson back into the rotation.

Trevor Williams could start one game Saturday in Philly.
Peterson had already been expected for a return to the majors because of the doubleheader, but now he figures to be a mainstay in the Mets' rotation for multiple weeks with Carlos Carrasco sidelined with an oblique injury.
Trevor Williams will likely start the other game on Saturday.
Peterson has been very good in the majors this season, boasting a 3.30 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 91 strikeouts over 79 innings. He's recorded six wins.
