With the injury to versatile infielder Luis Guillorme, who's now out for several weeks, the Mets now have a roster spot open and Brett Baty is being seriously considered as the replacement.
The twenty-two-year-old has been absolutely mashing the ball in the minors this season, slashing an absurd .315/.410/.533, with 76 runs scored, 19 home runs and 60 RBIs across 95 games between Double-A and Triple-A.
Number-five ranked prospect Mark Vientos is apparently not being considered as a potential call-up right now.
