Mets Activate Outfielder; Immediately Option Him
After a solid rehab assignment, he's healthy and ready to play full-time again.
However, the New York Mets don't have a spot for him on their roster right now.
The Mets activated outfielder Dominic Smith from the 10-day injured list and have optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Smith is recovered from the ankle injury that's kept him out since mid-July. The twenty-seven-year-old has not exactly earned a spot on the major league roster this year, batting just .194/.276/.284, with zero home runs and 17 RBIs over 58 games played.
Smith was a prime trade candidate and drew much interest before the trade deadline, however, the Mets couldn't seem to find a deal that tempted them enough to move him. It remains to be seen if Smith can find his way back to the major league roster this season.
