Marlins Activate Right-Hander
Once thought of as a linchpin for a young Miami Marlins rotation, Elieser Hernandez has stumbled upon hard times this season. He'll get another chance to turn his season around as the Marlins have activated him off the injured list. He'd been on a rehab assignment after recovering from Covid-19.

Elieser Hernandez has returned from his rehab assignment and has been reinstated from the IL.
Aneurys Zabala has been DFA’d
Per #Marlins
Bouncing between the majors and the minors, the rotation and the bullpen, Hernandez has struggled to a 6.11 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP across 53 innings this season. He was demoted to Triple-A in June after surrendering a frightful 3.4 HR per 9 innings, and a 6.75 ERA.
He was brought back to the big club in early July and moved to the bullpen, but after three scoreless outings, he came down with Covid, and has just now recovered. Hopefully he can continue to show progress in a relief role, where he tossed five shutout innings in his return, striking out five, while allowing only two hits.
The Marlins have designated RHP Aneurys Zabala for assignment to make room for Hernandez.
