Marlins 12th-Ranked Prospect Throwing Again; Has Not Thrown a Pitch in Two Years
Sixto Sanchez has begun throwing again, however.
The twenty-four-year-old has suffered many setbacks in his rehab from shoulder surgery last year. He most likely won't make it back to the Miami Marlins' rotation this season, but this is a good step in his recovery, nonetheless.

Sanchez last pitched in the 2020 season, where he made his major league debut. In that season, he threw 39 innings, posting a 3.46 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 33 strikeouts across seven starts.
For his minor league career, Sanchez has posted a strong 2.58 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP and 294 strikeouts over 335 innings. Sanchez is an elite talent and, if he can get healthy again, will be an amazing addition to an already promising Marlins rotation.
Unfortunately, it does not look like we'll see Sanchez pitch in a major league game until next season.
