Los Angeles Dodgers Designate Catcher For Assignment
Tony Wolters was called up to the Los Angeles Dodgers just this past weekend. Now, the catcher has quickly been designated for assignment by the club.
Wolters appeared in two games for the Dodgers during his call-up, where he went 0-for-4 and had three strikeouts. That wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on the 40-man roster, and Austin Barnes returning to the lineup also didn't help his chances.
It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to take a chance on Wolters from here. In 407 career MLB games, he has seven home runs, 123 RBIs, and a .235 batting average.
