Houston Astros Ace Leaves Game With Injury
Justin Verlander left Sunday's start early due to calf discomfort. He lasted just three innings, where he threw 60 pitches.
At this juncture, an update regarding his condition has not been announced. Yet, fans will be hoping that this was just a precautionary decision made by Verlander and the Astros. He's their top pitcher, and it would be bad if he were to have a long-term injury.
Verlander is having a Cy Young Award-caliber season, and the truth is in his stats. In 23 games, he has a league-leading 16 wins and a league-best 1.87 ERA.
