Diamondbacks Option Two Players
The Arizona Diamondbacks are sending down two players to make room for Caleb Smith and Corbin Carroll.
The team has optioned outfielder Jordan Luplow to Triple-A Reno.
Luplow has not hit for a strong average, as indicated by his .163/.261/.376 slash line, but has displayed some pop, hitting 11 home runs, 27 RBI and five stolen bases over 73 games this season. Luplow's departure makes room for the call-up of top prospect Corbin Carroll.

Holton being sent down creates room for the return of pitcher Caleb Smith from the injured list. Tyler Holton is a former ninth-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2018 MLB Draft.
