Cubs Starter Undergoes MRI; Hopes to Return This Season
Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks underwent an MRI on his ailing right shoulder Monday.
Hendricks had recently expressed optimism regarding his return this season, but the MRI suggests he's not progressing as he hoped he would. Once the final results of the MRI come back, the Cubs and Hendricks will reevaluate and see what the rest of the season holds for him.
Manager David Ross said Hendricks is still "pretty far away" but he's hopeful he can pitch again this season.
