Colorado Rockies Pitcher Designated For Assignment

The Colorado Rockies have designated Jordan Sheffield for assignment.

Sheffield has appeared in just two games for the Rockies this season, where he pitched 2.0 scoreless innings. During the previous campaign in Colorado, he also had a solid 3.38 ERA in 30 games. However, the Rockies have decided to remove him off their 40-man roster, as he just does not seem to have a permanent fit in the majors.

We could see some teams express interest in Sheffield if he becomes a free agent. Time will tell on that front.
